The UPDATE NHS Carbon Reduction Strategy is proving very popular with colleagues across the NHS and beyond, and many have been interested in using the new graphs for presentation purposes. The graphs have now been made available with a proviso that the SDU is acknowledge, you can download them at the SDU website

In 2009 the NHS published the NHS Carbon Reduction Strategy.1 The evidence base for this strategy is based on carbon footprint research, commissioned by the NHS Sustainable Development Unit (NHS SDU).

This paper, written by the Sustainable Devleopment Unit for the NHS, aims to clarify the challenges in developing carbon footprints at national, regional and local level within the NHS in England. The different methodologies need to be recognised and their use at different levels acknowledged.
