ACTTW Training Course – Successful strategies for marketing travel behaviour change

This course introduces delegates to the successful tools and strategies needed to deploy an effective marketing campaign to achieve travel behaviour change. It has been developed as the second stage of training for delegates who have completed the 'Introduction to Travel Planning'. It is also suitable for delegates who have not taken the introductory course, but assumes that delegates will have both knowledge and experience of the theory and practice of travel planning and related travel behavioural change roles.

Promoting healthy travel for a healthy workforce

This Masterclass will look at good practice across the NHS nationally. It is hosted by Addenbrookes Hospital, which has one of the exemplary travel plans in the UK, and is often cited in national and local media as having the highest parking charges, which are used to fund the excellent projects to enable sustainable accessibility to and from the site. Delegates will have a chance to view the cycle and public transport infrastructure during the day.

Zero Petrol Team presentation - Jessica Whiting, AWP (Sept 2009)

 

Presentation given by Jessica Whiting from Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership at the Sustainability Network meeting on 8 September 2009. The presentation highlighted the travel planning and 'modal shift' of the Bristol Vocational Service, who have become a ‘zero petrol’ team, (developed as part of the wider AWP plan). She highlighted the use of electric bicycles and an electric car, as well as personal cycle use for this ‘high mileage’ team based in central Bristol.

Travel Plan presentation from Alastair Byers of Transport & Travel Research Ltd, given to NHS Sustainability Network meeting on 8 September 2009.  The presentation explains TTR's work in helping North Somerset PCT to develop a travel plan to reduce the reliance on single occupancy (car) vehicle travel and promote greener cleaner travel choices.  The plan had a strong focus on the health and well-being of staff, and consisted of a series of quick wins that were easy to achieve as well as longer term targets

Sustainable travel plan interventions - A reference guide for NHS Trusts

 

This document has been compiled by Sustrans Cymru in order to assist the decision-making phase of the travel planning process and to provide guidance on a range of achievable options. Actions focus on reducing the number of cars with single occupants arriving on site and support a programme to increase the number of more sustainable travel mode trips. Site support vehicles, community transport and delivery vehicle issues are not addressed in this document.
