That’s according to Dr Paul Cosford, interim Director of Health Protection Services at the Health Protection Agency and Dr Justyn Thomas, CMO appointed Clinical Advisor to the Regional Director of Public Health. Writing in the Quality and Safety in Healthcare journal Cosford and Thomas argue that efficient use of resources minimises waste, maximises high-quality healthcare and, in combination, with effectiveness provides the critical measure of productivity.
