Millions of people can help in greening the NHS by
sponsoring trees through a new NHS Forest Tree Sponsorship Scheme, launched
by the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare and the Woodland Trust. The NHS
Forest project aims to see the planting of 1.3 million trees, 1 tree per NHS
employee, with as many as possible planted on NHS sites, such as hospitals and
surgeries, to benefit patients, staff and local communities. People can
sponsor a tree for £15 and up to 10 trees can be sponsored at a time using the
web-based scheme.
